Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

🍗 Chicken breasts - 2 large (sliced into strips)
🍋 Lemon juice - 3 tbsp
🫒 Olive oil - 3 tbsp
🧄 Garlic - 2 cloves (minced)
🌿 Dried oregano - 1 tsp
🌶️ Paprika - 1/2 tsp
🧂 Salt & pepper - to taste
For the Tzatziki Sauce:
🥒 Cucumber - 1/2 (grated)
🥛 Greek yogurt - 1 cup
🧄 Garlic - 1 clove (minced)
🌿 Fresh dill - 2 tbsp (chopped)
🍋 Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
🧂 Salt - to taste

For the Assembly:

🫓 Pita bread or flatbreads - 4
🍅 Cherry tomatoes - 1 cup (halved)
🥒 Cucumber - 1/2 (sliced)
🧅 Red onion - 1 small (thinly sliced)
🌿 Fresh parsley - 2 tbsp (chopped, for garnish)

Directions:

Marinate the Chicken:

In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken strips and marinate for 15 minutes.

Cook the Chicken:

Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken strips for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.

Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce:

Squeeze the grated cucumber to remove excess water. Mix it with Greek yogurt, garlic, dill, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.

Assemble the Gyros:

Warm the pita bread in a skillet. Layer the cooked chicken, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, and red onion on the bread. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.

Serve & Enjoy:

Fold the pita and serve immediately. Pair with extra tzatziki on the side!

Notes & Variations:

Add crumbled feta cheese or kalamata olives for extra flavor.

Substitute chicken with grilled shrimp or lamb for variety.
